High Success Rates
One of the most confusing issues related to reproductive technology is the interpretation of success rates. This confusion stems from the fact that success rates vary depending upon the reason for infertility and the ages of patients being treated. Another area of potential confusion is the way the pregnancy rate is reported. For example, pregnancy rates can be reported by cycle, by patient or by procedure, all of which give different results. Because of a number of factors that cannot be accounted for by program statistics alone, comparison of different programs based on statistics is not recommended. For RHS' most recent validated live birth rates, please review the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) Assisted Reproductive Technology National Summary or the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology's (SART) online clinic summary report. The following statistics are reported according to patient age. Ongoing Pregnancy Rates per Retrieval by Age Group January 2007 - July 2007 < 34
n=34 35-39
n=51 > 40
n=14 Overall
n=108 Note: Ongoing pregnancy is defined as any patient that has been released from our practice for obstetrical care. Data is inclusive of patients undergoing IVF and/or ICSI. Donor Egg Cycles are not reflected in this chart. “n” refers to the total number of patients who had embryo transfers during a given time frame. |
