Dr. Carolyn Kubik was the first woman to serve as Administrative Chief Resident of the OB/GYN Residency Program (1981-82) at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, where she later served as Medical Director of the Assisted Reproductive Technology Program (1986-91) and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology (1997-2000). She also spent time in the Air Force as a Major and a staff Obstetrician/Gynecologist at the United States Air Force Hospital at Dover, DE. Dr. Kubik has been an active member of the Pittsburgh academic and research community over the past thirty years, but she is currently devoted to clinical activities, acting as a Clinical Associate Professor with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
As Medical Director at Reproductive Health Specialists, Dr. Kubik oversees aspects of quality assurance and patient care and education. Dr. Kubik holds current board certification in both OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), and she is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Allegheny County Medical Society. Dr. Kubik received her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and she completed her residency training in OB/GYN and her fellowship training in REI both at Magee-Womens Hospital.
Dr. Kubik has been recognized consistently for her work in reproductive endocrinology as one of Pittsburgh Magazine’s “Top Docs” for nine years in a row.
In her free time, Dr. Kubik enjoys gardening in the spring and summer, knitting in the winter and traveling whenever she gets the chance. She plays the oboe with the Pittsburgh Philharmonic, where she also serves as the secretary and personnel manager.
